OLRCP ANNOUNCEMENTS. 15th February 2026

1. The Lenten Season commences on Ash Wednesday, 18th February 2026. The Mass programme for the day is as follows:

i.Ridgeways – 6.45 am, 1:00pm and 6:00 pm

ii.Muringa - 5.30pm

iii.Huruma - 5.30pm

iv.Karura - 1:00pm

The Priest’s Office will remain closed on that day.

2.The Ash Wednesday morning Mass (6.45 am) will be animated by the daily Mass group, Lunchtime Mass (1.00 pm) by CMA & CWA groups and the evening Mass (6:00 pm) by Liturgy committee, Ushers, Lectors groups.

3.We shall have a special collection during Ash Wednesday Mass; the collection is used to finance Justice and Peace activities at the Diocesan and National level. Kindly give generously.

4.The Way of the Cross is every Friday of Lent at 5.30 pm followed by Holy Mass. This coming Friday, (20/02/2026), it will be animated by the CWA Group.

5.During the forty days of lent we shall have “THE UPPER ROOM EXPERIENCE” with daily Eucharistic adoration and guided reflections, every Monday to Friday (6 am-7 am) and Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) (6.30 am-7.30 am) followed by Mass.

6.The Catholic Women Association (CWA) will have a luncheon with the Priest tomorrow, Monday 16th. The day’s program will begin with Holy Mass, followed by the luncheon thereafter. All CWA members are kindly requested to attend and keep time.

7.Infant Baptism will take place on Saturday; 7th March 2026 at 10:00 am here in the church. It will be preceded by 3 Baptismal instruction classes for the parents and godparents. The classes will begin on Saturday, 14th February 2026 at 2:00 pm in St. Maria Goretti Hall. Registration is ongoing at the Parish Tent or at the Parish Office

8.Kindly be informed that the 2026 Parish Calendars are still available. They are going for Ksh 250 only per copy.

9.The Masses for:

a)St. Faustina SCC,

b)St. Josephine Bakhita SCC will be celebrated on Tuesday, 17th February, at 7:00 p.m.

10.The Masses for:

a) St. Jude SCC,

b)St. Stephen SCC,

c)St. Mark the Evangelist SCC and

d)St. Joachim SCC will be celebrated on Thursday, 19th February, at 7:00 p.m.

11.Home blessings for Our Lady of Fatima SCC will be held on Saturday, 21st February at 9:00 a.m.

Today’s Mass has been animated by the Christ the King Choir. We are a dedicated group of men and women who serve the Lord through music for the greater glory of God. Our practice sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00 p.m., and on Sundays before and after the 9:30 a.m. Mass. If you are new to the parish or have been a member for some time, are aged 18 years and above, and feel called to serve God through music, you are warmly invited to join us. 1. On the first and second Sundays of the month, we usually offer our tithe to the Lord. Today being the second Sunday, you are invited to make your offering by bringing your tithe envelopes to the Sanctuary for blessings. Our Parish Tithe Mpesa Pay bill No. is 867165. Choir please give us an offertory hymn.

2. Easter Dues envelopes are available at the Church pillars. Kindly pick an envelope from the Church pillars or at the Parish tent and offer your Dues.

3. Vocation Sunday Second Collection, will be done next Sunday, 21/4/2024. The Collection assists in the formation of Priests and religious particularly in the Mission Lands.

4. Sacred Heart Devotion will hold their classes today 14th April 2024 after the 10 am mass at the Immaculate Conception Hall. New members are most welcome.

5. Seminarian Elijah Lowole, son of the late Mr Steven Lowole and of Mrs Regina Chilwa shall be ordained into the Order of Diaconate on 22nd May 2024 at Don Bosco Utume, Salesian Theological College, Karen-Nairobi. If any impediment in regard to his ordination is known, kindly inform the Father In Charge of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Ridgeways.

6. MYM Announcement:

We have lined some activities for the MYM Holiday Camp as follows:

a. Wednesday, 17th April 2024 - Recollection at Resurrection Gardens at 8am.

b. 18th to 19th April 2024 - Formation Seminarhere in the Parish from 8.30 am to 4:30pm

c. 20th April 2024 - ADN MYM Annual Mass & Commissioning at St Austin’s Msongari at 8am.

d. Sunday, 21st April 2024 - MYM Joint Bake Sale with Ysc. Kindly support them.

7. YSC Announcement:

ADN Formation Classes are ongoing every Sunday from 2.00-4.00pm during their Meet-ups at Aula Santa Maria. All Youth aged 19-26yrs are encouraged to join.

8. PMC Announcement

a. PMC will hold CTY(Catch Them Young) retreat on Friday 19/4/2024 from 7am to 5pm. This retreat is for children aged 11 to 14 years.Kindly register at the tent outside the church or through your PMC Jumuyia representative by today. Registration fee is Ksh 300.

9. CMA Announcements

a. CMA is planning to receive those Men who have already been commissioned as CMA Members in other Parishes within the Archdiocese of Nairobi but have since joined our Parish. All Men falling in this category are requested to register and submit Copies of their Baptismal Card & Commissioning Certificate at the Tent outside the Church or at the Church office during weekdays.

10. There will be a guest speaker during 8.00am Mass next Sunday 21st April 2024 addressing the topic of Addiction. Please note that this will only take place in the 8.00am Mass because the same was already done last month during 10am and 12noon Masses.

11. On behalf of the parish, the Fr Incharge takes this opportunity to pass his sincere condolences to the family of our dear member John Patrick Karanja Karungu who was an active member of the St Francis of Assisi SCC. He was one of the founders of our church and a member the fundraising committee for the church construction and incharge of security in the church particularly during fundraising functions. He was also a member of the Mountain Climbing team that used to raise funds for the construction of the Church. To the family, may God continue to give you comfort and strength. May his soul rest in eternal peace. the burial will take place tomorrow Monday 15th April 2024 at Gwa Gatimu Village, Kirangi, Karatu, Gatundu South at 10 am.

12. Marriage Banns: for the second time. We announce the marriage between Dennis Joe Wainaina Ngima and Winnie Nyambura Thuo. Dennis is the son to John Ngima Wainaina and Lucy Wambui Ngima. Winnie is the daughter to Peter Thuo Kimani and Elizabeth Njeri Ng’ang’a.

Should there be any reason that the above should not wed, do not hesitate to consult the Father-in-Charge.
